Background:

(ENRRI) was established in December 1991 in order to carry out applied research and development of natural resources, and their sustainable utilization as well as environment conservation. ENRRI became productive and active since November 1992. As environment and natural resources are ramified and closely connected, the ENRRI has adopted an integrated approach towards attaining sustainable agricultural development in Sudan.

  2. To formulate plans and scientific research and suggest scientific policies and means to execute its programs.
  3. To train and develop scientific, technical and administrative personnel.
  4. To cooperate with rival bodies locally and abroad for exchange of programs, information and skills.
  5. To encourage scientific research in relevant areas and secure funds for their execution.
  6. To participate in the development and dissemination of scientific research results in cooperation with relevant bodies.
  7. To give consultancy in areas of specialization.
  8. To promote the natural resources which did not receive attention in the past and make use of them in increasing the national income (e.g. apiculture under exploited crops …etc).

  4. Improving the animal productivity through the use of agricultural byproducts and other cheap materials for feeding.
  5. Monitor and follow up of environmental pollution and the illustration of other environmental problems.
