Controlled Environment, Irrigation & Drainage Section |
The Section is made up of the following units:
Controlled Environment Unit |
The Unit concentrates on the expansion of the greenhouse technology to as many farmers as possible.
At the same time advice is given to those who had already adopted the technology, hence increasing
their holdings' capacity so that a wider range of crops could be targeted in one crop cycle. Todate
there is a total of 10 hectares of land cultivated using the controlled environment technology, growing
a wide range of vegetable crops. New cultivars are being constantly screened under greenhouses so as to
evaluate their yield potential which would eventually be used as yardstick against farmers' production.
Progress Report:No.6 of the Vegetable Unit.
Vegetable Evaluation |
All crop varieties recommended from screening are further exposed to more rigorous evaluations to fine conclusions previously made.
