Purpose

1. This Web site was created in an effort of the Division of Research & Development to keep abreast with the new developments in Information Communications and Technology worldwide. It opens avenues for presenting the Division's public image as well as disseminating any new achievements scored by it. The site provides opportunities for Tanzanian agricultural researchers and other users of the Division to easily and more conveniently communicate with the Internet community worldwide.

2. The site was developed in compliance with the existing policies and rules governing the Division of Research & Development of the Ministry of Agriculture & Cooperatives, Tanzania. The information is a result of the cumulative compilations by the Information and Documentation staff of research problems, findings, and solutions through attendance to each and every commodity research annual meetings, as well as from the Divisional annual and other reports. However, this is an admissibly a collaborative effort involving the labour of many people.

3. The information contained herein was correct and right at the time when posted, but could have undergone changes thereafter, thus accuracy is the liability of the Division through its Web Master who should be consulted for any doubtful and extra information. The final content is posted upon approval by the Director's office.

4. The site contents will undergo a basic quarterly updating, though, under special circumstances, the updating might be more frequent. Updating will be done to a minimum of twice a year.

5. The Division of Research & Development Web site is the property of Division of Research & Development. As such, Division of Research & Development will be responsible for the content, development (e.g. addition, deletion, modification, updating of items), creation and approval of its Web site, through its appointed and qualified person as the Web Master or equivalent.

6. The appropriate administrator of the site will be responsible for:
   • each Web page's content, appropriateness, accuracy, currency and maintenance
   • the submission, review, approval and removal of Web page content
   • ensuring enforcement of copyright permissions and information display laws.

   The Web administrator will be responsible for news items, certain special event pages and the appearance and content of the home page. He/she will also be responsible for ensuring that structure guidelines and policies are adhered to.
