RSS (and more generally, XML) have enormous potential for their use in building infrastructures for communication and information exchange with and among CTA's regional partners. A number of these possibilities are already being explored in CTA’s programmes, especially for the delivery of tailored, subject specific content and for aggregating information from ACP partners.
As part of CTA's ongoing activities aimed at promoting the appropriate use of information and communication technologies to enhance two-way communication and community building, CTA held the workshop entitled "RSS feeds: identifying strategies for improving information access and sharing for ACP partners" from 16 - 18 February 2005 in Wageningen, The Netherlands.
The meeting convened ACP and EU technical experts and aimed to raise awareness of the potential of RSS approaches as well as to address the strategic issues involved in using RSS in information and communication services provision.
