CTA Partnerships ProgrammeCTA works with its partners at regional, local and national levels to build the capacity of ACP groups and organizations to generate and manage information for development and to formulate ICM strategies. We identify potential partners through case studies and intensive consultations with various stakeholders. Our partners range from research and training institutions, NGOs, policy networks and private sector groups to farmer organisations and rural women's groups. Support can take several forms. We have helped our partners to: establish data collection systems and databases; set up local information centres; produced radio programmes; organised workshops, seminars and training in ICM; and developed websites and electronic discussion platforms. Local and national partnersCTA works through its network of local and national partners with ACP organisations to reach its stakeholders on the ground. The projects undertaken by this programme consist of initiatives which have been proposed by various partners in collaboration with rural communities. LINKS Regional cooperation/partnershipsThe regional cooperation project seeks to strengthen ACP regional bodies so they can more effectively generate and exchange information through the integrated use of communication channels, training, and technical back-up. We have partnerships with 14 regional organisations and networks involved in research, policy, trade, natural resource management and information dissemination. We give special attention to women's and youth organisations and networks. The Caribbean Agricultural Research and Development Institute (CARDI) and the Institute for Research, Extension and Training in Agriculture (IRETA), house our Regional Branch Offices (RBOs) in the Caribbean and the Pacific, respectively. In Africa, we work through organisations and networks covering the four ACP regions - West Africa, East Africa, Central Africa and Southern Africa. LINKS
